At MCB Financial Services, we’re proud to be headline sponsors of an event that has been making a real difference across Norfolk for almost three decades.
On Friday 2nd October 2026, the Macmillan Charity Golf Day returns to Barnham Broom for its 28th year, bringing together local businesses, supporters and golfers for a day of fundraising, networking and community spirit.
Over the past 27 years, the event has raised more than £334,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, helping to fund the incredible work of Macmillan nurses who provide specialist care, guidance and support to people living with cancer and their families across Norfolk.
This year, organisers are hoping to reach an incredible milestone, taking the total amount raised to £350,000.
Why This Event Matters
Cancer affects thousands of families across the UK every year, and the support provided by Macmillan nurses can make an enormous difference during some of life’s most challenging moments.
From helping patients understand treatment options to providing emotional support for families, Macmillan nurses play a vital role in ensuring people never face cancer alone.
That’s why we’re delighted to support an event that directly contributes to this important work within our local community.
Our Managing Director, Mark Burton, said:
“We are proud to support the Macmillan Charity Golf Day as headline sponsor. The work carried out by Macmillan nurses across Norfolk makes a real difference to people at some of the most difficult times in their lives. To be involved in an event with such a strong fundraising history is a privilege, and we hope to help it reach the £350,000 milestone this year.”
A Norfolk Event with an Incredible Legacy
The event is organised by Graham Knights, who first launched the charity golf day 28 years ago.
Reflecting on its success, Graham said:
“When we first started this event 28 years ago, we never imagined it would grow into what it is today. Raising over £330,000 for Macmillan is something I’m incredibly proud of, but it’s only possible because of the continued support from the local business community. Macmillan nurses provide such vital care to families across Norfolk, and if we can reach £350,000 this year, it would be a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.”
The Event
The day offers much more than just golf. It’s a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to connect while supporting an important cause.
Teams of four can enter for £400, which includes:
- Coffee and bacon rolls on arrival
- Individual goody bags for all players
- 18 holes on the Penninck Course with a shotgun start
- On-course food and refreshments
- Two-course evening dinner
- Charity auction and grand raffle
- The opportunity to bid on a selection of fantastic golf four-ball vouchers
